We have an opportunity for you take part in a short online survey on perspectives towards using cannabis-based medicines as treatment for Multiple Sclerosis in the UK.

The research conducted is by a King’s College London student who aims to investigate views towards the availability and accessibility of cannabis-based medicines such as Sativex in the UK. This is a voluntary questionnaire particularly aimed at family members and carers of those affected by MS.

Our trustees are an integral part of MS Research. They all have personal experience of MS and they very kindly share with us their time, experience and skills in order to steer the charity in the right direction ensuring that we are able to achieve our aims of furthering our understanding of MS, developing better treatments and working towards finding an eventual cure.

In an article on Multiple Sclerosis News Today Ed Tobias, who has MS, discusses news items on the increasing awareness of possible risks associated with some of the new MS Disease Modifying Drugs (DMDs).

He writes: “…all disease-modifying treatments have the possibility of side effects, and some are more serious than others. We who use the treatments should always be doing so with our eyes wide open and fully informed of the risks.”

When most of us are taking it easy Exmouth resident Bob Baker and his friend Bob Richards will be dusting off their hiking boots once again and taking on their annual 14-mile New Year’s Day charity trek from Sidmouth to Exmouth to raise funds for MS Research on the 1st January 2019.
