Ways to Fundraise During Lockdown
Virtual running events – While events over the coming month have largely been postponed, there is still the opportunity to do a virtual event which can be great for mental wellbeing at this challenging time. Asa Bentley raised funds this way for MS Research in October and we are hugely appreciative of his support- "I'd signed up to run the marathon in Manchester but due to COVID it got postponed to 2021. Now more than ever charities such as MS Research need our help so I thought I must do what I can. I decided to run the event virtually and there are lots of other similar events out there. Equally, it kept me busy and focussed at what is a stressful time for most. The funds raised go to support important research that will hopefully one day put an end to this terrible disease."
Birthday Fundraisers – Facebook offer to host birthday fundraisers, where your friends donate money towards your chosen charity in lieu of gifts, it’s very easy to set up and can make a huge difference at this time.
Knitting - Lots of people knit to raise funds and awareness of charity causes, MS Research have had numerous people raise money this way and there is no better time than during lockdown!
Amazon Smile/Easy Fundraising –Using Amazon Smile or Easy Fundraising means a small amount of your spending will be donated to a charity of your choice at no extra cost to you, it’s an easy way of raising funds for free.
Donate your commute – If you have been working from home, you could always #DonateYourCommute and help us get back to research on MS.
