MS Research Treatment and Education (MS Research) is recruiting for two new roles which have been created as part of our recently agreed investment in our fundraising, in order to deliver our strategic and operational ambitions in line with our five-year plan.
MS Research is a charitable organisation aiming to grow sustainably over the next few years. Our aims are:
• to advance and fund research into multiple sclerosis (MS)
• to assist people who have MS in the management of their condition through treatment and education services
• to act as a representative body addressing all areas of interest for those who have MS, those close to them and those who treat and research the condition.
You will be joining our small, friendly team which is based in Bristol at The Vassall Centre, a fully accessible centre housing several charitable organisations. We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons regardless of their race, sex, disability, religion/belief, sexual orientation or age.
Trust and Grants Fundraiser
The new Trusts and Grants Fundraiser will be responsible for developing our trust fundraising capability, investigating, researching and making approaches for new funding. Excellent communication skills are essential to develop our case for support and to complete impactful professional applications.
The successful candidate will have experience of raising income from trusts, foundations and major grants (ideally within a medical context) together with excellent research, communication and relationship development skills. They will also be comfortable with working in a small team and with taking initiative and responsibility.
Reporting directly to the Operations and Fundraising Manager the Community Fundraiser will be responsible for supporting our community fundraising capability building on our existing work in the area. Excellent interpersonal skills will be required to develop relationships to proactively raise income from community, individual and corporate sources.
To be successful in this role professional fundraising experience is not necessary as prior as on-the-job training will be given and formal training opportunities will be available. It is essential that you are a proactive, adaptable individual willing to learn and develop in the role. You will also be comfortable working in a small team and with taking initiative and responsibility. We expect this post to grow in hours and scope over the next few years.
